Each year the Plymouth County Conservation District along with the Town of Wareham, holds its Electronic Recycling Day.
PCCD is a non-profit organization and offers this opportunity for residents to discard their electronic items in an environmentally friendly way. Items that can no longer be used must be handled responsibly. The National Safety Council estimates that 50 MILLION computers in the U.S. become obsolete each year. Hazardous substances can get into ground water when these electronics are dumped UNLESS we RECYCLE. Most trash companies will not take these electronic items with your regular trash pickup service. Prevent these risks by properly disposing your electronics.
The Carver, Marion, Wareham regional Refuse Disposal District are pleased to offer a Household Hazardous Products Collection Day in May 2011 to the residents of Carver, Marion and Wareham. They will be accepting: pesticides, household chemicals, oil-based paint, anti-freeze, motor oil, spent gasoline, products containing mercury (thermostats, thermometers, florescent bulbs, float switches, etc.), EMPTY propoane tanks
